Daily Prompt: Places

Beach, mountain, forest, or somewhere else entirely?

This prompt is giving me a smile on my face right now.  I know I am supposed to get on with my teacher “duties” but I just can’t writing now. 🙂 Beach, mountain, forest, or somewhere else entirely? What do you think?

I am a beach bum. If you have read my post Daily Prompt: Musical you will find out how much I love the beach.:-) Image

Thanks Google Images for this photo!

I have so many photos of the beaches that I went to however I don’t have my laptop here with me now.

As promised here are my photos taken with my phone.:-)

Daily Prompt: Writing Room

A genie has granted your wish to build your perfect space for reading and writing. What’s it like?

I am a nomad.  Since I was a child I’ve been living here and there that when you ask me to describe where I grew up, I’d probably pause for a moment and wonder how to respond to your question.  However, if there’s a place that I’d call home that would be my grandparents’ place.  I think I already mentioned it in one of my Daily Prompts entries.  I know I’ve been here and there but not everywhere yet and I still long to that day when I’d be able to call a place here my own while waiting for Jesus’ soon return, a place where I can liberally do whatever I want in that place.

I’m a beach lover.  I’d love to have a beach house one day.  I just love the sound of the waves crashing, the seagulls squawking, the leaves rustling. I also love the feel of the wind blowing and the heat of the sun penetrating on my dark skin.  Paradise!

Next to the beach, I also love reading and writing. I cannot go on a day without doing any of these.  It’d be great if I could do both daily.

Pretending I already own a beach house, okay? The perfect place for reading and writing for me would be a room facing the ocean where I can see nothing but the white sand, blue green waters, horizon, trees, boats, and a few people.  The room will be filled with photographs of my families, friends, students, the places I’ve been to, and the delicacies I’ve tasted everywhere.  The theme of the cottage will be similar to that song popularized by the PianoGuys: Love Story Meets Viva La Vida.  It will have a touch of modern yet classic at the same time.

Imagine this:

READING SECTION (left side of the room)

There will be posters of: The Fruits of the Holy Spirit as recorded in Galatians 5:22, the definition of Love in 1 Corinthians 13, Psalms 23, 91, and 139, and EB Browning’s How Do I Love Thee (full of hearts, btw.) 😀 Then there will be a towering bookshelves of my favorite books classified in different genres, a fridge containing yogurt, fruits, and some chocolates, a small table, some flowers/plants, and an enormous sized soft round bed where I can just read nonstop. 🙂

IN BETWEEN MY READING AND WRITING SECTIONS OF THE ROOM is my MUSIC/ENTERTAINMENT “HALL” where I have a soft red couch and a center table facing my super wide TV screen and thin, long speakers.  On its side is an old record (I want to own one, a real vintage record player :D) and a DVD player.

Music is the language of my soul. How can I not have a music area? 🙂 Of course, on the other side of the “players” are my cello, violin, and a piano so when my eyes, hands, and brain are tired then I can just relax for a bit.

WRITING SECTION

This will have a wide table.

to be continued…a friend is inviting me to go…NOW!

The Class Outing

swimming!

My Speech and Diction class went on an outing in San Juan Batangas on the 20th of May 2007.  During that week-end, cellphones were smoking–message here, message there–all about the outing.  As their professor, I was quite paranoid of about this and that like if their expectations of the place, if they will enjoy, if everything will be safe, if everyone will be stuffed, all nasty IFs.  On the midnight of Saturday, I texted them all (those that I have their numbers) hehe..bothering their sleep or their preparation. They all teased me that I was too excited. Hehe.  I slept late that night because I watched IMBESTIGADOR before preparing my things.  I set my phone to alarm at 3:45.  Unfortunately, I was not awakened by the sound of the alarm rather it was a miss call from KC that woke me up.  (Thanks KC).  I tried my best to prepare quickly because I don’t want them to wait for me.  The call time was 5:30-6 am.  At 5:55am, I was already there.  We waited for some who bought some medicine and snacks and then started our sojourn.  The driver said that the best route will be from Manila via Sta Rosa down to Tagaytay then San Juan Batangas.  We were all happy inside the van.  Some were talking loudly, some were singing wildly and some were eating deliciously.  We passed by AUP to get a pitcher and a blanket and bought foods.  We enjoyed the beauty of nature especially the Taal Volcano, Fantasy Land (where Majika was shot), the hills, everything.  We spent quite a number of hours on the road and still we haven’t seen neither a shadow of San Juan.  Upon reaching Lemery we started to ask about how to get to San Juan.  They told us it will take 2 hours ride more.  Boredom started to creep into our nerves.  Our body wanted to plunged into the cool water of the sea but we’re not on our destination yet.  We pulled over to a certain resort in Lemery and checked the place.  But it was too crowded.  The water was dark. In short we did not like it.  We then decided to go to our original destination.  No one knew how to get to the place. So, the drivers (hehe..salit-salitan sila eh) frequently asked strangers about the way.  After a long tedious trip we arrived in the Good Shepherds Beach Houses at almost 12 noon.  Imagine almost six hours travel to Batangas! Yes, Batangas.  As if we went to Baguio. Haha. We looked for a cottage near the beach.  We saw one which was a little expensive with entrance fee per head.  We deemed the price to be expensive.  We were uneasy about the price so we looked for another place.  We found a cottage which was worth the price and stay which was near the beach.  There we ate grilled chicken barbeque, fried hotdog, grilled eggplant, and a lot more.  We enjoyed the summer heat and the cool splash of water.  We burried Porky and Kim on the sand.  We went on a boating and swam on the deep water and some of them went on snorkeling.  I definitely envied them.  How I wish I knew how to swim! Huhuhu.  I am really scared of deep waters. After hours of enjoying the company of one another, we then decided to go home.  We left the place at 9pm.  I arrived at 11:55pm at AUP and the rest of them few minutes after twelve.  We really enjoyed the outing and how we wished it will happen again. Hehe.
